Mitch Green (born Mitchell Green on January 13, 1957) is a former American professional boxer. He is best known for his two highly publicized encounters with Mike Tyson.
Boxing Career: Green had a professional boxing career that spanned from 1980 to 1998. While he was a competent fighter with a decent record, he is primarily remembered for his confrontations outside the ring. His most significant fight in the ring was against Trevor Berbick
First Encounter with Mike Tyson: Their first bout was a ten-round fight in 1986. Mike Tyson won by unanimous decision.
Second Encounter with Mike Tyson: Perhaps more famous than their fight, was an infamous street fight between Green and Mike Tyson in Harlem in 1988. The incident resulted in Tyson suffering a fractured hand. Green was left with cuts and bruises. The fight led to lawsuits and further cemented Green's notoriety.
Post-Boxing: After boxing, Green has reportedly struggled with various issues. He has had run-ins with the law and periods of homelessness.
